Go Giants Nails
Go Giants Nails
I'm not a big sports fan but I'm from California! In honor of the game tonight I did some Go Giants Nails. These are freehand and not perfect since my hands are a bit shakey today. Fun nails to sport with our friends who support the opposing team :)

Artistic Makeup
Artistic Makeup
Worked on this shoot a while back going for an artistic look with make up. Rhinestones added more of a dramatic flare to the look. This shoot was a lot of fun and one of my first artistic shoots I have done. I have done more since this shoot and will be more than happy to share them via blog. The photographer for this shoot was BV Photos http://bv-photos.com/

Purple Rain Nails
Purple Rain Nails
Some nails for the month of October! Wanted to do some Halloween colored nails but still wanted them to look pretty. I used a base of Confetti - Purple Reigns topped with Spoiled - Battle of the Sexes. And yes these nails did make me think of Prince's Purple Rain song!

Dark Flamingo Nails
Dark Flamingo Nails
I painted these nails a couple of weeks ago before I left for my California trip. I got so many compliments on my nails in the airport while traveling. Nail colors are a light grey base with peach striping, done free hand. These nails lasted a good long time but had no chance against the elements. Went to California to visit family and to go camping with friends. Lake Shasta was amazing even with the chance of a forest fire making us evacuate. Fire was controlled and we continued to have a blast. Floatie time on Shasta lake was amazing and it made me miss California so much on our return to Florida. Love Florida but this August humidity is plain yucky. It will pass though and we will be back to year round perfect weather once again.

Yellow Deco Nails
Yellow Deco Nails
It has been a while since I played with my nail polish so here it is. This polish is a yellow base with a mint green polish done in a dot pattern. Then I layered on black, white and silver polish in a slash motion. Fun look for my fingers and toes and looks great when wearing grey clothing.

Tas Merah Soft Make Up Case
Tas Merah Soft Sided Rolling Make up Case
After a lot of research on travel make up cases I found the line Tas Merah. I purchased my case on www.Yazmo.com and have been super happy with my purchase. I have owned this bag since March 2012 and bought it only to travel by plane. At the time bought it for $199.95 and it appears to be the same pricing still online. I needed to have a bag that fit the essentials of my kit on the go and this bag definitely met my requirements. This model meets the TSA standards for carry on luggage size. It fits perfectly in the overhead compartment of all the planes I have been on so far. It has six removable drawers, mesh pockets, detachable 11 brush holder, and a spacious capartment in the top. The only thing I wish this bag had would be a 4 wheel roller system. The two wheel works ok, but four wheels would make this bag perfect. Great on the go, would recommend it to any artist traveling for work consistently.

Playboy Special Editions
Last year I worked with Playboy Special Editions and photographer Jon Cancelino. I did make up and hair on our model Dennii Nicole. We did four different make up and hair looks for this shoot. Dennii's shoot with us will place her in 4 separate Playboy Special Editions. Playboy is my first International Magazine to feature my work. We also had our videographer Jesse Walker who took footage of the shoot and special clips featured on Playboy Special Editions site. Terry Stormes helped with lighting and anything needed while on shoot. We had a blast shooting our first shoot with Playboy in FL. This was my first look on Denni keeping her look pretty natural. I progressed her look to more dramatic through shoot. To see more of Photographer Jon Cancelinos work check out his site http://joncancelino.com/

Natural Makeup
I am originally from California and try to travel there as often as possiable. Funny that while I lived there I did not shoot any of my work. I plan on working more in California very soon. But a couple of years ago I took some time and meet with photographer Gabriella. Our model was Juliana Pfeffer and she pulled this look off perfectly. I love the landscape of California which is so different than where I live now in Florida. Vocess Magazine
Vocess Magazine
I worked with Vocess Magazine a couple of years ago featuring the Stella & Dot jewelry line. Photographer Ross Krison did a great job highlighting the jewelry in his images. The top image of Model Liz Foran was used for the cover of the magazine. Lower images are of Model Katie Hawley. I had 5 pages plus the cover in this particular Vocess Magazine issue.

Wedding Trial Make up & Hair
Deciding whether or not to use a make up artist for you wedding should be an easy decision. Go into your decision fully informed and this will help alleviate any doubts you may have. Look for an artist who has a website showing work they have done. Make sure they are a professional in the industry and have good feedback about them. Here are some tips to help you obtain the best artist for you on your wedding day.
Schedule a Trial Make up Consultation
A trial make up consultation is when you will decide on your final wedding day look. This also allows you to see first hand the style of the make up artist you are working with. A make up trial does not obligate you to an artist, feel free to trial with numerous artists. Trials are not a free service but well worth your time and money. Bring photos or email them in advance of make up and hair styles you are interested in. Your make up artist will help you determine which would best suite you. Also bring a picture of your dress so the artist can get a good idea of your style.
Plan for a Touch up Kit
Unless you hire your make up artist for the full day you will need a touch up kit. You can either ask your artist to obtain a touch up kit for you which will add to your final cost. Or you can have your artist look over what you already own. This way the artist can tell you what if any thing you would need to purchase to maintain your look through out your special day.
Trial Hair
Not all make up artist do hair and may specialize in one more than the other. The day of your trial will help determine exactly which style you will choose for your wedding day. The hair style chosen will determine if they want you to arrive with clean hair or washed the day before. Make sure to bring any hair accessories you are interested in incorporating into the hair style with you.
Your trial should be a fun exciting experience, after all you are planning your big day. So enjoy your trial and all of your wedding plans ahead of you.

I did the make up and hair for the pictures above for a recent Look Book. Always a pleasure to work for talented Fashion Designer Sandra Hagen. The colors Sandra used on this line were perfect. The details in her clothing such as her hand painted pieces in this collection makes each piece unique and one of a kind. I had a lot of fun on this job and worked with a fantastic team. Very lucky to have amazing talent surround me. Certainly keeps me inspired and a happy Make up Artist!
